CrewLAB has two workspaces: a Club space and one or more Team spaces. Knowing which one you're in explains most of what you can see and do.
Team space
A Team space is a single team. Men's Swimming, Women's Rowing, and Juniors XC are three separate Team spaces. Each one has its own:
Calendar, events and practice plans
Chats
Roster and squads
Workouts and videos
Lineups
Analytics
Most day-to-day coaching and training happens here.
Club space
The Club space sits above your teams and connects them. It is a full workspace with its own:
Club calendar
Chat, including club-wide announcements
Members list, covering every team
Payments, programs and products
Waivers
Clubs are used to register people, collect money, message everyone at once, and see across all teams in one place.
How the two relate
| Team space | Club space |
Scope | One team | All teams in the club |
Roles | Coach, Captain, Athlete, Parent, Other | Admin, Member |
Who it's for | Coaches and athletes | Club administrators, treasurers, board members |
Your roles in the two spaces are independent. A treasurer might be a Club Admin and also a Parent in one team. A head coach might be a Coach in two teams and a Club Member.
Do I need a club?
No. A team can use CrewLAB on its own for as long as it likes. Clubs add payments, registration, waivers, and club-wide communication on top of teams that already exist. Nothing about your team changes when a club is added.
How do I get a club?
Clubs aren't created inside the app. CrewLAB sets them up with you, including connecting your existing teams. To set up your club space, book a call with us.
Finding your way around: web vs mobile
CrewLAB works the same on the web app and the mobile app. The features are identical, and only the navigation differs. Web puts everything in a top navigation bar. Mobile uses a bottom bar plus a More menu. Tapping your team name opens the space switcher in both cases.
