2026 Release notes

Written by CrewLAB Marketing

July 2026

πŸ“Œ Message Reactions have landed! Drop a heart or any emoji on a teammate's message (double-tap for a quick heart ❀️) β€” a small touch that makes team chat feel like a team.

πŸ“Œ Sync your season like never before: External Calendar Integration (ICS) with per-event links and availability filtering lets you export practices and regattas straight to your personal calendar.

πŸ“Œ We know swimming and rowing are a team sport, but so is paying for it: Alternate Payment Methods and Deposits for Payments mean families can split costs instead of paying one lump sum.

πŸ“Œ Custom Questions can now be added directly to programs, so you can collect exactly the info you need at registration. No more side spreadsheets.

πŸ“Œ Organization Chats now have dedicated sections, and coaches/admins can oversee every chat across the whole club from one unified view.

πŸ“Œ Dietary restrictions and allergies now have their own dedicated fields, and Medical Fields are here too, nothing critical slips through the cracks at check-in.

πŸ“Œ Archived Products and Programs now have a proper home, keeping your active shop clean and easy to browse.

Improvements

πŸ“Œ Members and Payments tables got real filtering added on top of search, and the underlying tables are faster and more flexible with dynamic column widths β€” big rosters load and scroll smoother than ever.

πŸ“Œ Admins now have clearer, more consistent permissions!: Admins can manage teams they're linked to, and parents/others access to sensitive info like PII and benchmark data

πŸ“Œ Stripe and CrewLAB fees are now tracked per payment for full transparency

πŸ“Œ Coaches can now expand attendance responses for more detail at a glance.

πŸ“Œ HEIC/AVIF image support means photos from newer iPhones and cameras upload smoothly

Bug Fixes

πŸ“Œ Improved performance on email-only invites

πŸ“Œ A big thanks to the coaches and admins who caught our UI polish issues: dark mode colors on payment pills, mobile checkout scrolling, and more have all been cleaned up.

June 2026

πŸ“Œ Refunds now show up right inside CrewLAB: Full visibility into the money side of the program, no more digging through Stripe.

πŸ“Œ We are thrilled to announce the new Club Profile: clubs now have a true home base tying every team together, so admins can manage the whole program from one place.

πŸ“Œ Gone are the days of hunting through menus: say hello to the redesigned navigation drawer, a new "More" tab in the app bar, and the Team Switcher Bottom Sheet for jumping between your team and club space in one tap.

πŸ“Œ Coaches! Prep and paperwork just got a lot faster: your new Roster Compliance view, Registrations Compliance info tabs, and one-tap Download Roster to CSV button

πŸ“Œ Message search has arrived: find that one conversation without endless scrolling.

πŸ“Œ You can now copy and paste links between programs and products, and clickable links now work inside program/product descriptions.

Improvements

πŸ“Œ Reworked for efficiency: Load Management All-Team table is now rebuilt from the ground up to give coaches a bird's-eye view of training load across the whole roster

πŸ“Œ Searching just got smarter!: Members and Payments tables now search, paginate results, and support sorting, so you're not stuck waiting between keystrokes on a big roster.

πŸ“Œ Calendar event loading got more efficient behind the scenes, so things load faster.

πŸ“Œ Waivers got a cleanup pass to batch and streamline how they're handled.

Bug Fixes

πŸ“Œ Fixed pending ACH payments not showing up and installments displaying as one-time charges

πŸ“Œ Fixed several navigation bugs

May 2026

πŸ“Œ Payment Plans have arrived!: Gone are the days of asking your athletes to front the full cost of a program before the season even kicks off. We know that's not how crew budgets work β€” especially when you're juggling dues, equipment fees, and regatta entries all at once. With installment-based payment plans, you can now give your squad flexible payment options right at checkout. Set your schedule, let them pick a plan, and collect what you need β€” no more awkward follow-up conversations.

πŸ“Œ Discount and coupon codes: We've built a full coupon code system into payments! Coaches and admins can now create promo codes to discount registrations and program fees. Whether you're rewarding returning athletes, running a sibling discount, or comping a registration entirely (yes, 100% discounts are fully supported!), you have the tools to make it happen cleanly without any manual workarounds.

πŸ“Œ A dedicated payment history view for programs: You can now see a complete payment history right from the program details page. Every transaction, installment, and coupon redemption in one place, so your admin team isn't digging through spreadsheets trying to track who's paid what.

πŸ“Œ Club Settings page: Admins, your club-level settings now have a proper home. We've launched a dedicated Org Settings page to give you cleaner control over your organization's configuration.

πŸ“Œ Calendar event colors 🌈 : You can now color-code calendar events in the club space! Perfect for differentiating all of your teams, schedules, or just making your crew calendar actually fun to look at in the club space. When viewing the calendar from within your team space, entries now display the origin of the event so you always know whose schedule you're looking at.

Improvements

πŸ“Œ @mentions work in club chat: Fixed β€” @mention your crew and trust it lands

πŸ“Œ Unified payments table across all products: We've consolidated payment data into a single, consistent table experience across programs, events, and other product types. Track who's paid and for what without jumping between different views.

πŸ“Œ Cleaner field layout in the registration flow: The custom field layout during registration was a bit scattered. We've tidied it up so the experience feels intentional rather than like a form that escaped its container.

Bug Fixes

πŸ“Œ Load Management now shows your team, not the whole team: Coaches working within a specific team were seeing the full team roster in Load Management instead of their team. Fixed: your view matches your context.

πŸ“Œ Fixed ACH payments on mobile: bank transfers weren't working correctly from the app. If your athletes prefer ACH, they're good to go.

πŸ“Œ Fixed payment plans not carrying over when duplicating a program

April 2026

πŸ“Œ Payments! That's right, the all-in-one shop just got a supercharge. Dues, regatta fees, gear orders, camp registrations, your team can now collect it all directly inside CrewLAB with no separate invoicing tool, no buried payment links, and no awkward follow-up texts. Teams now have a dedicated product details page to manage exactly what you're selling β€” pricing, descriptions, and all the details in one clean view. Assign payment items to the whole squad or individual athletes, set up recurring billing, and let the real-time dashboard replace the spreadsheet for good. Automated reminders do the chasing so you don't have to β€” and athletes can pay however works best for them. Now available on app.crewlab.io and the latest mobile update. Everyone on the team always knows exactly where their money went and what they're paying for.

March 2026

πŸ“Œ Communication just leveled up with the arrival of Threads and Message Search!: Gone are the days of tactical discussions getting buried under team banter in your main feed. You can now spin off focused side-conversations within any chat, keeping the group clean while the real work happens in the thread. Additionally, with our new search feature, tracking down that training tip from three weeks ago, existing conversations, and your teammates. No digging, no scrolling, just results.

πŸ“Œ Introducing Chat Read Receipts and Reminders: In a strong team, no one gets left behind. You can now see exactly who has read your messages in real-time, and set follow-up reminders so no critical boat meeting or coach callout ever slips through. We know staying in sync is everything, and now you have the receipts to prove it.

Improvements

πŸ“Œ We've completely changed how you visualize your output with Concept2 Time Series Graphs: Athletes can now dig deep into their ergdata with detailed pace graphs that map performance stroke-by-stroke.

πŸ“Œ Notifications are now smarter: Not only do you open to the notification you tap on now, but only thread participants get alerts for specific sub-conversations. If you're not in the thread, you won't hear about it. No more buzzing pockets for discussions that have nothing to do with you.

πŸ“Œ New Message, Who dis?: We added an Unread Line Marker in chat, giving you a clean visual indicator of exactly where you left off β€” just like your training log tells you where you stopped. Jump straight to the new stuff without scrolling past everything you've already seen.

πŸ“Œ Hover and Reply: On web, hovering over any message now reveals a quick Reply button right inline, so starting a thread from the web is just as fast as it is on mobile.

πŸ“Œ Hold for love: Long-pressing a like button on any message or feed post now shows you exactly who liked it β€” chat, thread, and feed all covered. Because knowing your crew is hyped matters.

Bug Fixes

πŸ“Œ Major shoutout to the athletes who flagged the grey screen during benchmark selections β€” We jumped on it and cleared that right up in time for the season

πŸ“Œ Thanks to user feedback, we fixed the bug where Garmin users weren't seeing post workout reflection prompts. Those prompts will now fire the second you finish your piece, right on cue.

πŸ“Œ We cleared out clutter in the Workout Details Past Results table and squashed the Wellness Check-in bug that was being blocked by unnecessary workout edits

Coming Soon

πŸ“Œ What's this new Payments Tab? πŸ‘€ β€” now visible to coaches and athletes across the app and web, If you've been waiting for a way to handle team finances right inside CrewLAB, stay tuned. Sign up to be first in line when it launches!

February 2026

πŸ“Œ Safe Messaging: We're thrilled to announce that coaches can now send direct messages to any adult member of their team (athletes, other coaches, and supporters alike) without any friction. Likewise, anyone can get in direct communication with their coach. For teams with minors, although adding a second coach to the chat would suffice, we are proud to announce you are now able to add your Parent in CrewLAB! Go to your profile, details, and you should see a new tab called Parents. From there, athletes are able to request existing supporters to link as their parent or invite their parent into the team with Coaches able to request on behalf of the athlete. The rules are clear, the guardrails are in place, and communication between your staff has never been easier.

πŸ“Œ Notification Grouping: All of your CrewLAB push notifications on iOS are now organized: chat notifications group by conversation, and everything else is tidily grouped together. No more sifting through a jumbled notification stack before morning practice.

πŸ“Œ Pace Charts Are Here!: We are thrilled to announce that pace charts are now live on your workout details β€” giving you a full visual breakdown of your split pace across every stroke of your session. Whether you're analyzing a steady-state piece or a sprint set, you can now see exactly where you surged, where you settled, and where your best work happened. Train smarter, race faster!

Improvements

πŸ“Œ Tap a Chat Notification, Clear the Stack: Opening a chat β€” whether by tapping a notification or navigating manually β€” now automatically dismisses all other pending notifications for that same chat on both iOS and Android. One tap, clean slate.

πŸ“Œ Chat Mention Dropdown Polished: The @mention dropdown in team chats now correctly filters out supporters (who aren't part of the chat) so you're only ever seeing the teammates who can actually receive your message.

πŸ“Œ Pace Graph Bounds Fixed: Workouts with extreme pace variations or unusually long durations were causing pace graphs to render incorrectly β€” axis bounds were going haywire. Graphs now display cleanly regardless of how wild (or epic) your training session was.

πŸ“Œ Integration Improvements: Incoming workout data from Garmin, Coros, Concept2, and Apple Health now feature improved reliability

January 2026

πŸ“ŒIntercom is now live in the app! Communication is the heartbeat of any great squad. We’ve integrated Intercom directly into the platform to help us stay connected with you and, more importantly, to help you get the support you need instantly. Whether you have a question about your training data or need a quick hand with a feature, help is now just a tap away with the new "Get Help" button.

πŸ“ŒBetter Insights with Integration Graphs and Pinned Messages We’ve leveled up the way you see your progress! New integration graphs help you visualize your data more effectively, making it easier to track performance trends over time. Plus, to keep your team organized, you can now pin important messages in your chats. No more scrolling through 50 messages to find the bus departure time for the next regatta, keep the vital info right at the top!

Improvements

πŸ“Œ Birthday Required to use Chat: We’ve introduced a new popup that appears if your birthday isn't on file yet. This ensures your profile is up to spec for compliance without you having to hunt through settings. By keeping your date of birth updated, you’re helping your coaches and admins ensure the whole team meets regional and national safety requirements.

πŸ“Œ Squad-Specific Invites: You can now create "Invite Only" events by specific squads, giving coaches more control over who needs to see which practice session.

πŸ“Œ Web Performance Boost (WASM): We’ve migrated the web app to support WebAssembly. This is technical talk for "the app is now way faster" on your browser, ensuring a smooth experience even when analyzing heavy workout data.

πŸ“Œ Apple Workouts Reliability: We improved how data is passed to Apple Health to ensure your workouts are created more reliably. Your rings deserve that credit!

πŸ“Œ Workout Progress Tracking: Your past results will now reflect your current workout session, allowing for better real-time progress tracking as you grind through your pieces.

πŸ“Œ Visual Polish & Dark Mode: We’ve been busy with the digital "boat wax." We updated calendar and analytics icons, fixed text visibility in Dark Mode, and gave the Android app icon a fresh look.

Bug Fixes

πŸ“Œ Android Video Fix: We resolved a nasty crash that was stopping videos from playing or being uploaded on Android devices. Your technique videos should now load smoothly!

πŸ“Œ Event Editing: Fixed an issue where editing a workout would sometimes delete attached images or fail to save the workout time.

πŸ“Œ Invite Links: Resolved an issue where invite links weren't properly prompting new teammates to join the squad.
