NCAA compliance

Written by CrewLAB Marketing

Is CrewLAB approved under NCAA rules?

CrewLAB is compliant when used correctly. Athlete use is voluntary and doesn't count towards NCAA hourly limits unless the activity is coach-directed or supervised.

Does activity logged in CrewLAB count as CARA?

Only if a coach requires it and it serves an athletic purpose. Voluntary use by athletes doesn't fall under Countable Athletically Related Activities, per NCAA bylaw 17.02.1.

Separating required from voluntary sessions

Coaches can mark which activities are CARA or RARA, meaning Required Athletically Related Activities.

Days off and vacation periods

Coaches can schedule required days off, academic breaks and vacation periods in CrewLAB to match institutional policy.

Setting up for NCAA compliance

  1. Designate coach roles.

  2. Define compliance periods, such as summer or academic breaks.

  3. Brief athletes on what can and can't be logged.
