How CrewLAB training challenges work

Written by CrewLAB Marketing

Training challenges are within-team competitions that run during the off-season, when teams normally lose contact with each other. Athletes earn points for training, daily check-ins, and social engagement, competing individually and as squads.

There are two: Summer Smasher and Winter Wipeout.

You're already in

Every CrewLAB team is enrolled automatically. There's nothing to sign up for and nothing to configure.

There's also no way to opt out. If the competitive side doesn't suit your team, ignore the points and leaderboards and use the challenge as a framework for staying consistent instead. Plenty of teams do.

They're free

Challenges run on any CrewLAB plan.

Your activity stays inside your team

All activity and leaderboard rankings, individual and squad, are visible only to your own team.

Squads do the work

Your team is divided into squads that compete against each other. Coaches and Captains can rename and rearrange squads at any time from the Roster and from profiles.

Points follow the athlete. Re-sorting squads doesn't cost anyone progress, and squad totals update automatically. If an athlete earns points while in no squad and joins one later, those points come with them.

Setting up before a challenge

  1. Check your roles. If a coach is leaving during the challenge, promote a Captain or another Coach first. If nobody on the team holds either role, email [email protected].

  2. Sort your squads. Existing squads carry over unchanged.

  3. Leave the rest. Leaderboards appear on their own and calculate in real time.

Compliance

CrewLAB training challenges have been reviewed by many compliance departments and are stated to meet NCAA, IRA and ACRA guidelines. No coach supervision is required, and Captains can run a challenge independently.
